Life with toddlers is full of love, laughter and wonderful times, but it can also have more difficult moments such as the toddler tantrums in the supermarket, these toddler tantrums are part of what we refer to as the terrible 2's and 3's. If you can try to understand what makes your toddler tick - wanting to be independent and grown up one minute, but your baby the next - you're more likely to get the most out of this phase in your child's life. And understand why your toddler is going through the terrible 2's and 3's. Toddler tantrums are generally brought about as your toddler is incapable of expressing itself.

Keeping a positive attitude and concentrating on the fun side of your toddler's life throughout the terrible 2's and 3's can lift your spirits, even when you're feeling down, due to too many toddler tantrums. Make an effort to join in them in play and find time to laugh together. Enjoy activities with them whenever possible - at the playground, in your garden or just at home in front of the TV. Remember distraction can reduce the amount of toddler tantrums throughout the terrible 2's and 3's.
