Toddlers
So you have managed to get through the new born phase, things have got to get easier haven't they? Well as one difficult stage passes another one begins with its own unique challenges but its very amazing rewards. Your toddler has suddenly turned from a little bundle of joy to a bigger bundle that does not stay where you left it!
The toddler stage is so important in the development of your child and inquisitiveness is a major role in this. While it may appear naughty that your child wants to pull everything off the bookshelf, run around like a maniac, tip everything you have just tidied back out of the cupboard and crayon on the wall it is the beginning of independence. New found freedom of going where they want and doing what they want to must be an amazing feeling for the once stationary child. Obviously this is the stage where boundaries need to be set and the word 'no' seems to be the predominant one in the vocabulary. It is also a period of rapid growth both physically and mentally for your child. Stimulate them and play with them, stacking bricks for the millionth time may seem boring to you but the delight in your child's eyes when they knock down your attempt at the Eiffel tower is something to be cherished. Enjoy it, they will learn from you but I can guarantee you will learn so much from them also!
